Battle of Valcour Commemoration

Clinton Community College is proud to be hosting a Battle of Valcour Commemoration on Friday, October 11, at 4:30pm in the Stafford Atrium.

October 11th marks the 243rd Anniversary of the Battle of Valcour, one of the first naval battles of the American Revolution, fought between the shores of Valcour Island and New York State. The Saranac Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Valcour Battle Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, and Clinton Community College will hold a commemoration. 2019 is the 124th year that the event has been coordinated by the DAR.

The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

  • Kyle Page, Adjunct Professor, will speak on “The Battle of Valcour, a Study in Numbers”.
  • Music is provided by Cathy Davenport, John Glover, and the H & H music studio vocal ensemble.
  • Special guests include Representative Billy Jones, Town Supervisor Michael Cashman, and CCHA Director Helen Nerska.
  • Colors will be posted by the American Legion Post 20 Honor Guard.
