This is the second year Science club has collaborated with Girl Scouts of Northeastern NY to mentor girls in the Junior First Lego Leage.

Science club members facilitated an 8 week program that introduces girls ages 6-9 to the world of robotics.  The program is part of the Junior FIRST LEGO League challenge and the models(s) produced by the GS team challenges them to discover how food is kept fresh and safe. As a team, "Gadget Girlz" designed and built a model that represents the making of a snack and how that snack is made safe for us to eat. The team presented their model at the JFLL competition December 3rd 2011 at the University at Albany, Albany NY.

Spring 2012 Update: Gadget Girlz investigated the process of how yogurt was made, packaged, and distributed to market.  They developed a sorting table model that  detected unsafe temperatures during storage and high fructose corn syrup.  If either of these conditions were present, the sorting table flipped the yogurt into a bin preventing distribution and thus contributing to more safe and healthy foods at the store.

The "Yogurt Parfait Cafe" was a success at the competion and the team received the Most Explosive Award for their vivid description of their model and colorful poster presentation.

Amazing Race-  Science Club  participated in the Amazing Race, Wednesday September 21.  We won the title of Clinton Idols.
